Cactus Plant Flea Market are known for putting out some pretty wild designs, but their newest collab with Nike has to be one of their most outlandish yet. Designer Cynthia Lu has once again teamed up with the Beaverton-based brand for another Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Dunk Low , and it’s an interesting take, to say the least.
Wilder than the previous CPFM Dunks, Lu has really flexed her creativity with this pair. Featuring a whole host of crazy textures and quirky details, the new Dunks are a bit of a mish-mash of elements, but it’s actually somewhat refreshing to see so much personality go into the collab. Done up in an earthy green and brown colourway, the base of the Dunk is made from a quilted triangle pattern, whilst hairy suede overlays wrap around the toe, lace unit and heels.
Bold CPFM and Nike embroidery sit on the tongues, whilst an exaggerated white Nike Swoosh sweeps across the side of the left shoe. On the right, the Swoosh branding has been omitted in favour of a Yin Yang graphic that’s been embroidered on the medials. Adding to the outlandish design is a pair of chunky pull tabs that give the shoe rough-and-ready vibes, and rope and flat laces tie the pair together. But the real star of the show is the unconventional midsole, which looks to be wrapped in some kind of textured faux-moss finish.
Whilst they’re not the most wearable pair ever, we reckon that the 2022 Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Dunk Lows will be a firm fave amongst CPFM fans, and they definitely have all the makings of a collector’s item, so be ready to cop when they drop later this year.
