Celebrating 20 years in style
Released just before the turn of the millennium, this silhouette saw a massive resurgence in 2018. And to celebrate the Deluxe turning 20 years old, Nike is going more mature and pared back, with the release of the Nike Air Max Deluxe in Sail and Desert Ore.
The soundwave-inspired upper comes in an elegant tonal cream, enhancing the sleek curve of the shoe. The official colourway is Sail/Desert Ore-Teal Tint-Black. At the back, two tonal heel panels bring subtle contrast to the light-hued runner, which makes them even more versatile when styling.
With the Air Max Deluxe having already seen success with its space-like Blue-Black colourway, as well as gaining hype by collaborating with Skepta for the Air Max Deluxe SK, the addition to the deluxe fam will surely be a hit among sneakerheads.
Nike’s minimal branding appears in the form of a peach mini Swoosh to the lateral sidewall, at the bottom of the eyestay, and the top of the tongue. The branding is minimal because everyone knows a Nike shoe when they see one. The full length Air Max cushioning unit from the toe to the heel – the same design used in the Air Max 97 – tells us enough. They are an instant cop.
