A new collaboration is on the horizon between Olivia Kim, Vice President, Creative Projects at Nordstrom, and Nike. Reworking classic sneakers including the Nike Air Force 1, Air Mowabb, Air Footscape, Air Max 98 and Air Jordan IV, along with 16 apparel and accessory pieces for her latest Nike by Olivia Kim Collection.
The collection is inspired by the rave and hip-hop styles from ‘90s New York, giving the pieces an energy like no other. While the looks are inspired by the style’s, the collection’s name ‘No Cover’, is to do with the nightlife in the city.
The Air Force 1 comes in a yellow and blue colourway, covered in corduroy in a Sean Wotherspoon style, with the classic white midsole and Air-Sole cushioning within it.
The Air Jordan IV comes in deep colours, with pony hair detail around the heel of the silhouette, black laces and black Jumpman and Wing branding throughout the sneaker.
Kim has stated that the collection is for everyone and anyone to wear, from men to women and from young to old, an all-encompassing collection for the world with “no judgements” and “no rules”.
The Air Mowabb is throwing it right back, in orange and black hues with flashes of red and teal on the collar, as well as branded accents for that vibrant look.
The clothing pieces are inspired visually by the ’90s, while the sneakers that she has chosen to re-make are also tying back to the era, tying the entire collection together, with further inspiration taken from her free-spirited wardrobe when she was younger.
The collection features vibrant pink, volt, blue, orange and red colours, with the fleece hoodies and graphic tees featuring mini swooshes in glitter pink.
The Nike Footscape gets a unique zebra look, pictured in a rhinestone decorated blue sink, in black and white with pink and yellow branded Swooshes and mesh detailing.
Finished off with the Air Max 98 in gradient red, yellow and green hues, finished off with white and black colours on the double mudguard, as well as through the Max Air unit below foot.
